The Civic Conservatory is Mid City Civic Theatre's youth training program, created to inspire, train, and mentor middle and high school students through meaningful theatrical experiences.

More than acting classes, the Conservatory introduces students to every aspect of theatre, from performance and stage management to lighting, sound, costumes, scenic design, and production. Working alongside experienced artists and educators, students gain practical skills while building confidence, creativity, collaboration, and leadership.

We believe theatre changes lives. It teaches young people how to communicate, solve problems, work as a team, and see the world through someone else's perspective. These lessons extend far beyond the stage.

As the program grows, the Civic Conservatory will offer classes, workshops, productions, masterclasses, and community partnerships designed to make high quality theatre education more accessible for young people across the Greater Baton Rouge area.

Whether students dream of a career in the arts or simply want a place to belong, the Civic Conservatory will provide a welcoming environment where they can discover their voice, develop their talents, and become part of a vibrant creative community.
