Be part of building Baton Rouge’s next community stage.

  • As we continue building MCCT and preparing for the next phase of programming, we’re looking for a few extra hands to help us shape the future of our organization. We’re inviting dedicated volunteers who want to play a meaningful role in developing our strategies and programming moving forward. To help guide this work, we’re excited to announce the establishment of our Vision Committees.

    What is a Vision Committee?
Vision Committees will be temporary (with the potential to become permanent) groups tasked with shepherding and overseeing crucial aspects of MCCT’s operations, including Fundraising, Education, Rentals and Facilities, Bylaws and Mission, Production, Marketing, and Youth Board (ages 13 - 17).

Each committee will have a designated board member who will serve as a non voting, ex officio member and communicate updates back to the board.

Who can join a Vision Committee?
We’re so glad you asked! Anyone interested can fill out the interest form, and an MCCT team member will follow up with more details.

When and where will the Vision Committees meet?
Committees will meet monthly for about an hour at MCCT, with a Zoom option available for those who cannot attend in person. Committees may choose to meet more frequently if needed. Meetings will begin in April.

We want everyone to have the opportunity to get in on the ground floor as we build this new community theatre together. We can’t wait to get started.

With your support, we can create a space where artists thrive, audiences belong, and creativity takes center stage in the heart of Baton Rouge. Together, we’ll make it a new day, a new model, and a new theatre.

  • Education is a core value of Mid City Civic Theatre. Through our Artist Development programs, we aim to offer a variety of classes throughout the year that support young artists as they build craft, confidence, and collaboration. Whether on stage, on camera, or behind the scenes, these classes are designed to strengthen skills, encourage curiosity, and foster the collaborative spirit at the heart of great theatre.

Check out the current classes here.
