Your ideas. Our stage. A community of possibility.

Sundays at the Civic is a curated community performance series at Mid City Civic Theatre, creating space for local artists, organizations, and creative voices to share their work with Baton Rouge.

From live music and comedy to staged readings, storytelling, and experimental performances, each event brings something different to the Civic.

Have an idea? We’d love to hear it.

What belongs on our stage?

  • Small-scale or experimental performances

We welcome proposals from individual artists, creative groups, nonprofits, and community organizations. You do not need to be an established organization to submit an idea.

Proposals should have a clear concept, a manageable production plan, and someone responsible for coordinating the event. MCCT selects programming based on variety, feasibility, quality, and alignment with our mission.

Ticket revenue, after ticketing fees are deducted, is split equally between the participating artist or organization and MCCT. All bar revenue goes to MCCT. Technical needs beyond the standard lighting setup and use of the space can be discussed and will incur additional rental charges.

Applications are accepted year-round and reviewed quarterly. Please submit early, with proposed dates at least two months after the next review deadline.

Applicants may propose a single event or a short series of up to three events, with no more than one event per month. Dates depend on MCCT’s production and rental calendar.

Submitting an application does not reserve a date or guarantee selection. Selected applicants will work with MCCT to confirm scheduling, technical needs, and partnership details. Next review deadline: December 7, 2026.
